Race07 and/or GTR: Evolution

Just wondering if anyone around here had these games, or is interested in racing sims?

They're about the only games I play these days (GTR2, GTR:Evo, Race07, rFactor) and currently enjoying racing in a small friendly championship of varying skill levels.

Good competitve fun, not too serious, and free from the wrecking idiots that you get on most public servers! Hope we have some more racers out there

Just so that you know, GTR:Evolution has Race07 included with it (it's basically a mod for the original Race07 game with a few more cars and tracks)

It has many vehicles, including GT racers, WTCC cars (which I generally go for), Radicals, Caterhams, Mini Cooper and single seaters in the form of F3000 and Formula BMW.

And of course, there is a massive modding community making more content available all the time

Yeah, you can get it from steam, but you may be able to get it cheaper if you shop around for the discs

Things aren't too bad, bud, considering the credit crunch and all. In full-time work, and you can't ask for much more than that right now, eh?

I see there's a demo available on Steam which is free to download, for anyone keen to try, but not keen to part with the wonga straight away

Just so that you all know, if you don't already have Race07, then you'll be looking for the GTR:Evo complete set (which includes Race07), since it was also released as a mod for existing Race07 owners

I find the WTCC cars particularly fun, though there are lots of faster beasts if you can control them
